Read through Hope Tillman's overview of the systematic analysis and evaluation of web resources.

2. Evaluating Information found on the Internet: Basic Criteria

  • Authorship
  • Publishing body
  • Point of view or bias
  • Referral to and/or knowledge of other sources
  • Accuracy or verifiability
  • Currency

Read through the basic criteria for evaluating all forms of online information, and how they apply to the Internet.


3. Evaluating World Wide Web Information:

Browse through Purdue University's Web Evaluation Criteria for an alternate view of Web evaluation.


4. Information Quality:

Visit the Virtual Library's "Internet Guide to Construction of Quality Online Resources."
for an overview of information and content design principles for web resources.


5. Practical Steps in Evaluating Internet Resources:

For help in evaluating web resources, read through the practical steps outlined by Elizabeth Kirk.
